I absolutely loved working with this sweet Clearwater family to document their beautiful new baby, James. It’s especially cool how the couple was first introduced to me.
I received a call from another photographer out of Dallas, TX, who said he had a wedding client whose wedding was postponed due to COVID. To make it up to her, he wanted to give the couple a newborn session, but they had recently moved to Florida. He found me online and thought that our styles were very similar, so he asked to purchase a newborn session from me to give to them. I love being able to connect with photographers around the world and find ways to help each other along.
After I got Lisa’s number, I called right away to find out exactly what she would like to do for their session. The couple was able to have their wedding last year, and now they have a beautiful baby boy. Lisa requested that we hold their session at her mom’s house.
Her mother’s Clearwater home was breathtaking, inside and out. I love to shoot in-home newborn sessions! Brand-new parents are so much more comfortable in their own space rather than having to take the baby out to a new place and hope for favorable timing as far as naps and feedings go.
James was such an easy baby to photograph. He is so photogenic! Lisa and her husband, Preston, were fun to work with, too. Preston is a photographer who specializes in real estate photography rather than family portraits. They followed all of my directions like professionals, and are such a beautiful family, I couldn’t make them look bad if I tried!
I always tell my clients that their attitude is everything during a newborn session. If the parents are anxious and upset, the baby tends to act up. However, if you are calm and peaceful like Lisa and Preston, the baby can share in your calm. This makes for perfect, serene newborn portraits like James’s. It was such an honor to have another talented photographer reach out and help me find these wonderful clients. I cannot wait to see what they choose to do with these darling newborn portraits of baby James!
