Now, you’ll need to start preparing for the next huge moment in your life, which is getting married. There is a lot to do to prepare for a wedding. Today on the blog we are breaking it down into 5 easy steps to help you be ready for the big day.
STEP 1: CELEBRATE
The first thing you obviously should be doing is CELEBRATING. You are still making out, right? Good, you are on the right track. But seriously, take some much-deserved time to celebrate your engagement with your fiancé and all your friends and family. Do an engagement Party!
This is one of the biggest moments of your life so take the time to enjoy every second of it. Be sure to take a ring selfie and share the news with everyone. You know so they can celebrate with you. Because a party of hundreds is much more fun than a party of two.
STEP 2: PICK A DATE
Time to pick a date. Some people are planning far enough ahead that they can plan their whole wedding around an exact date. However, weddings that are on more of a time crunch may have to have their date planned around venue availability. So, whichever boat you are in, pick a date so you can start planning everything else.
STEP 3: MAKE A BUDGET
Now let’s talk money. It is important to know what your budget is for your wedding so you can make the right choices. For your venue, photographer, dress, flowers, cake, etc. There may be parts of your wedding that you want to spend more money on. Knowing your budget will help you make those decisions.
I always recommend allotting more money in your budget for an amazing photographer because you really get what you pay for and your wedding portraits will be the most important takeaway from your wedding.
STEP 4: PICK A VENUE
Now you get to pick your venues. I recommend visiting each venue you are interested in to find the perfect one for you. It is helpful to see it in person because, as cheesy as this sounds. You will feel which one is right for you when you are there. Be sure you pick a venue that fits your vibe, and wedding party.
STEP 5: HIRE A PHOTOGRAPHER
Last, but not least, my favorite part, which is finding a photographer that does both engagements and weddings. I think it is so important to have the same photographer for both photoshoots because you are able to develop a relationship with your photographer and your photos will be cohesive for both shoots.
I promise it is more fun to see a familiar face on your wedding day than meeting a stranger for the first time.
Follow these 5 steps after you are engaged. I promise you are sure to have a perfectly planned wedding day.
