Chelsey and Hunter’s backyard wedding was enjoyable, beautiful and all about the love they share. I was honored when they chose me as their wedding photographer to capture that love!
Chelsey and Hunter met at a Georgia Tech/FSU game several years ago, and fell deeply in love. Hunter is a professional fisherman, so it was fitting that their backyard wedding took place on the water, in a relative’s backyard in Clearwater, Florida. It was a sunny Saturday morning. Of course, in Florida, there’s always a chance of rain, and it did rain – for about 15 minutes just before the ceremony, then it stopped. Yay!
Chelsey did a first look with her dad. It was so precious!
This backyard wedding was simple and relaxed, with the water and boats providing a beautiful setting. I was touched when, throughout the day, they took the time to honor their loved ones who had passed away and who they missed dearly.
After the ceremony, they wanted to have portraits done on the dock and on the boat, which was meaningful for them. We were on the boat for about 20 minutes and the couple was able to relax and soak in the fact that they were finally husband and wife. It was just me, their uncle (the Captain) and the sea breeze. And the light was epic!
Chelsey and Hunter describe themselves as a silly couple and this was evident when I saw their wedding cake. The topper showed a groom fishing for his bride. So fun!
I really love capturing the moments that they went on the boat. It’s one of my favorites on wedding day! Because of the nice breeze and gorgeous sunset light. Moreover Chelsey and Hunter had more relaxed, and private moments together which really made their wedding day more special.
