Fall mini session is here!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, I don’t mean Christmastime (but that’s definitely a wonderful time, too!); I mean that it’s fall mini session time! This is the season for sending holiday cards and family photos to your loved ones near and far, so it’s the perfect time to get some updated family photos taken.

What are mini sessions?

Mini sessions are an evening-long event at one designated location, typically with multiple mini sessions booked back-to-back to accommodate multiple families.

Sessions are short, sweet, and to the point, but you’ll still get the same quality and experience as you would with a full session. You can expect a reduced rate and a smaller selection of high quality digital images!

How do mini sessions work?

I open my mini sessions in October and have my availability noted on the scheduling calendar. I also do special events later in the season like Santa Claus mini sessions. You’ll be able to book in advance before the end-of-year festivities fill your schedule! 

Once you choose your day, you’ll schedule and pay in the online portal. Once you’re booked, I’ll send outfit recommendations, tips to help you look and feel your best during the session, and suggestions to help prepare yourself and your family members for an incredible session!

FAQs

Q: I’m a mom and I do not feel great in my body right now. I feel like it should wait a bit to lose the 20 pounds before stepping in front of the camera.

A: You are beautiful in every stage of your life! In five years. You’ll look back on these pictures so grateful that you captured the memories and your children in these young years.

That’s what you’ll notice far more than any body shape. I’m also experienced in posing and styling to help you look your absolute best! 

Q: How long is your turnaround time? I need to get my Christmas cards out!

A: You will receive your images in an online gallery within 1 week of the session date. Giving you plenty of time to create those holiday cards!

I also have my custom card service and offer delivery within 3 days after your design is proofed. 

Q: Do I get print releases? And where do you recommend printing my images?

A: Yes, you will receive the print releases. There’s a professional photo lab option in the online gallery where your images are, and you can order prints directly through the online portal.

Q: My kids are absolute terrors, I’m not sure they will cooperate.

A: I know how to work with your entire family to help you create genuine and memorable photos! You can also check out this blog post on how to prepare your family for a family shoot.

Q: I’m not sure that 5 images will be enough, how do I know if a mini session is right for me?

A:  You can buy more or upgrade to buy the whole gallery! If you are thinking, “I want enough images to fill an album,” then maybe you should consider booking a full session with me! 

Q: Is 15 minutes really enough time to get a really good selection of images?

A: Yes, I have done this for so long and have my workflow down to a science!

Q: What is the best time?

My best advice is sunset, but if you want early morning I can do that as well, just send me an email.

Q: What if it rains?

A: I will have a couple backup days blocked out on my calendar to reschedule if needed.
