Jamie and Kaleb found my portfolio online and gave me a call to see if we would be a good fit. I was so excited when she booked her maternity session because she is such a sweet person! It is so clear that she is going to be an amazing mom. Her husband, Kaleb, is a kind man who will be an excellent father to their son.
Both of their families are in Florida, so the couple moved to Tampa from Indiana last year. Not only were they excited to be close to family again, but they were also missing the beach! This made it easy to decide on a location for Jamie’s maternity shoot. Clearwater Beach has the best of Florida’s weather and beaches. We headed for Sand Key Beach and had a perfect weather day, even at the end of December.
Jamie chose a dress to wear from my client’s wardrobe. She was so happy that she didn’t need to buy a dress for just one day, and I am so glad that I am able to offer this option to clients! I offer outfit rentals for every kind of session, from newborn to engagement sessions. Maternity dresses, in particular, are not frequently worn, so I always make sure that my maternity clients have the opportunity to look through my selection before purchasing their own. There are several sizes and styles to choose from, and Jamie ended up choosing a gorgeous, flowy blue maternity gown. It was the perfect fit for her personality, and the color was perfect to represent a baby boy.
The day before our session, the wind picked up, and the weather was cold for us Floridians. I was worried about us being down so close to the water, as the wind can get really chilly on the beach! But when we got to the beach on the day of the maternity session, the weather was great. It was not too hot or too cold, and the sky was so open and beautiful. I am a firm believer that good vibes can make all the difference in a session, and Jamie and Kaleb’s good vibes brought us a gorgeous sky for maternity portraits!
